Framed to Be Seen

Jaden Sweeney grew up in Oxford, Michigan. From the age of five, film was already his world. It started on a LeapFrog GameBoy, learning to edit before he could fully articulate why it mattered. But it mattered. Even as a kid, he treated it like a job. The obsession was real: to craft an image so precise, so convincing, that a viewer couldn't look away. Perfection wasn't a goal, it was the only option.

Growing up, he made hundreds of short films, vlogs, and documentaries, directing, editing, and recruiting neighborhood friends to bring his visions to life. He founded his own production group, Tales, and built a YouTube presence that taught him the mechanics of storytelling at scale: algorithms, audience retention, the rhythm of what keeps people watching. It was a self-built film school long before he ever set foot in one.

That devotion led to freelance work throughout high school and beyond. He went on to study at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit before transferring to the Savannah College of Art and Design, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2026. Art school sharpened what years of self-teaching had already built, expanding his technical range and deepening his visual instincts.

In his first year at SCAD, knowing the curriculum wouldn't give him the space to pursue his own vision, he took matters into his own hands. The result was Pessulus, a passion project that went on to win awards and screen at film festivals overseas.
